Our Staff

Susie Duttge is the founder and principal operator of Fit for Life Rehab and Fitness Clinic.

The clinic staff has been treating patients clients in need of improving their physical issues for 25 years.  Susie has 37 years experience in the health and fitness industry with 26 years as a Certified Medical Exercise Specialist (American Academy of Rehabilitation, Health and Fitness Professionals [AARHFP]). She works with pre-teens though seniors. Her fall risk prevention program for seniors successfully brings an end to their falls. Her continuing education includes Orthopedic Rehabilitation of the Knee and Shoulder, Spinal Stability Assessment and Treatment, Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders, Assessment and Treatment of Compression Neuropathies of the Upper Extremities, Treatment and Prevention of ACL Injuries, and Tai Chi for Balance, Fall Risk Reduction and Rehabilitation. Susie serves as the Midwest Representative for AARHFP, building and maintaining relationships with the medical community. She has been a Continuing Education Provider for the American Council on Exercise, a wellness consultant and an off ice master trainer for competitive youth ice skaters. Susie has the distinction of being an award winning marathon runner, an international distance triathlete, and Naui Certified Scuba Diver. Having run 12 marathons injury free, Susie trains beginner and experienced runners how to safely run their best race. She is a graduate of Northwestern University.

Ruth Reyna holds a Master’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois. She has over 30 years experience in the fitness industry from health educator, instructor, personal trainer to wellness coach and fitness center manager. She is a Certified Smoking Cessation instructor (American Lung Association). In the last eight years Ruth has developed, and motivated seniors to attend, older adult group fitness programs for independent living communities, most recently as the Active Aging Senior Manager (National Institute of Fitness and Sports) at Sedgebrook Senior Living Community and instructor at Lake Forest Place. She loves working with the senior population but her expertise encompasses all ages. Prior to this, Ruth was the Manager of the Wellness Center at Takeda Pharmaceuticals. Additionally, she has been the Fitness Coordinator for the Chicago YMCA, supervising and working with special populations of pre-school children to seniors; Health Educator at Resurrection Hospital where she worked with patients for weight loss, smoking cessation and transition from physical therapy to an effective exercise routine. Ruth developed and teaches a triathlon training course that incorporates all levels of fitness. Ruth has done 12 marathons and a variety of shorter races as well as triathlons. Her passion for hiking has led her to the Grand Canyon and trails around the world. She believes that wellness incorporates both the emotional spiritual and physical aspects of every individual regardless of their limitations or disabilities.
